6 Common Easter Laundry Stains (and How to Handle Them)
Clean Right Laundromat – Gainesville, GA
Easter is a time for joy, family gatherings, egg hunts, and spring treats—but it can also be a time for some seriously tough laundry stains.
Whether it’s chocolate smudges or colorful egg dye mishaps, Clean Right Laundromat is here to help you bounce back with these Easter stain-busting tips.
1. Chocolate
From Easter bunnies to candy eggs, chocolate is everywhere—and it melts fast in little hands.
Fix it: Scrape off excess chocolate, then soak the item in cold water with a touch of detergent. Launder in warm water (not hot!) to avoid setting the stain.
2. Grass Stains
Outdoor egg hunts are fun but can leave pants and dresses with stubborn green streaks.
Fix it: Pretreat with a stain remover or a paste of baking soda and water. Wash using an oxygen bleach or an enzyme-based detergent.
3. Egg Dye
Beautiful dyed eggs can leave bright stains on fingers—and clothes.
Fix it: Rinse with cold water, then dab with white vinegar and blot. Wash with a color-safe bleach if needed.
4. Grease or Butter (from Easter meals)
Ham, casseroles, and deviled eggs can all leave oily spots behind.
Fix it: Sprinkle with cornstarch or baking soda to absorb oil, brush off, then treat with dish soap before washing.
5. Wine or Juice
Spilled grape juice or wine from Easter dinner? It happens.
Fix it: Blot (don’t rub!) and rinse with cold water. Soak in a mix of cold water and oxygen bleach, then wash.
6. Candy Dyes (Jelly beans, Peeps, etc.)
Those vibrant treats can easily stain sleeves and laps.
Fix it: Rinse with cold water and use a stain remover. Wash in warm water with a strong detergent.
